Calculator • Pro App Reviews
Ok, but the free version is a SCAM!
The developer changed it’s free app to 50 calculations limit only, then we have to pay! I totally don’t approve this kind of crapapp!!
I’m in need of calculating between applications and this calculator works perfectly. It’s easily visible from the menu, stays on top of other applications, is not too intrusive, shows the calculations used in the current equation, has a tape to review more indepth calculations, and has a simple tap to copy to clipboard. It has really saved me time. After reviewing at least 10 Mac calculators, this is the perfect one for me.
The default calculator of my mac is too simple and it can’t meet my demands. This app is perfect to calculate and it is easy to use. it always stays on my menubar. good app
I have just had this app for a short while now, but I know for a fact that it will come in very handy for me in the future. It is 100 times better than the Mac calculator hands down! I love the hot key functions such as hide, global hide, clear, copy, delete, “x” for multiply and either the comma or period for a decimal point. Very ingenious! There are a few things that I would love to see in a future update though. The first thing, would be an option to turn the “+=“ key into only the “+” key with one keystroke because I accidentaly clicked that key a few times wanting the plus function but it evaluated it anyway. Another option that you could add would be to use both the slashes (the backslash and forward-slash) as divide functions. And possibly, if you could make it where the paste function could be pasted into any part of the calculation and not only in the beginning, that would be amazing!! Lastly, I would also love to be able to use parentheses in my calculations. But other than those few ideas, it is an amazing and very convenient app. Extremely well made and very user friendly!!
I just bought it, and found it crashes well within 1 second after the icon briefly appears as a MenuBarItem. I am using MacOS X (Mavericks 10.9.5) on a MacBook Pro. I can’t figure out how to contact Tech Support.
**CRASH**
The older version worked great. The new update makes it crash as soon as it opens on Yosemite :(
Will not open in Maverick after Update to 2.7
Useful app and would give it 5 stars if it would open after update Deleted and re-installed; still would not open Is it opening in Yosemite?
Program Crash ….
What good is a highly rated app if it crashes as soon as it opens. The Free version works well and I like it. The free version is great for my needs.
****Update**** I posted the below review this morning and at some point during the course of the day, an update was available. The app now works again! I consider this a prompt response and good customer service. Thank you for updating! Back to 5 stars. I used this app constantly and was very pleased until the latest update. Now, I am unable to open the app, it crashes as other reviewers have mentioned. Since it’s unusable on Mavericks at this point, I have to give it 1 star, otherwise a very useful app. Please make it work with Mavericks again.
This calculator is fantastic. I’m the CEO of a small business and am constantly using spreadsheets and doing quick calculations. Having this in the menu bar allows me to run quick calcs at a moments notice. The tape functionality is beautiful, it allows you to have up to six decimal points, and it starts up right with my computer. This is a much better overall experience than that apple calculator. Thank you!
Nice Improvements!
I love the tape functionality!
Perfect
It’s the perfect calculator for the El Capitan environment. Easily worth the price.
Greatest asset to balancing electronic books on your computer without having to load an application or grabbing a hand calculator. With the on-screen tape option you can validate your imputs without wasting paper. I’m waiting for the addition of a memory function and sale tax % that can be loaded into memory.
I really like this calculator. It does exactly what it’s supposed to do and has a tape function that really helps when I question my totals. The reason for the docked star is that I have to go into my applications folder in order to open it when I need it. I don’t want it to launch when I boot up my computer so this is just a small frustration. Why can’t I just put it in my dock for easy access?
I love this calculator! I used it this year to calculate my tax return before sending it on to the accountant. This is a stable version. The free version crashes repeatedly under OS 10.11.4.
